BetAmerica, established in 2008, was a prominent online and retail sportsbook and iGaming platform owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI). The platform offered a wide range of betting options, including horse racing, greyhound racing, and fantasy sports, catering to a diverse audience of bettors across the United States. In January 2021, CDI announced the rebranding of BetAmerica to TwinSpires, consolidating its online wagering services under a single, unified brand. This strategic move aimed to enhance the customer experience by integrating sports betting and iGaming with CDI’s established horse racing wagering platform, TwinSpires, which has been a leader in the industry since 2007. The rebranding process began with the launch of the TwinSpires online sportsbook and casino in Michigan and was subsequently rolled out to other states where BetAmerica operated, including Colorado, Indiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. This transition marked a significant step in CDI’s efforts to streamline its online wagering operations and strengthen its market position in the competitive iGaming industry.
